Who We Are

PreserveCityPark.org is the online home for the City Park Committee of the Vallejo Architectural Heritage Foundation. The Committee is made up of neighbors, concerned citizens and preservationists. We are partnering with the Police, City Government, and other like-minded organizations to find creative ways to improve and protect this great Vallejo treasure.

The committee was formed to fight the crime and neglect that have plagued Vallejo's City Park for many years. Our goal is to rejuvenate this historic park and make it a place that the entire community enjoys.

Our Plan

We have established a multi-faceted plan to revitalize City Park. It is well balanced and comprehensive, emphasizing increased security and positive usage while at the same time respecting the historic nature of the park. The plan is composed of five separate, but related projects:
  1. Designing a "community built" playarea for our children.
  2. Creating a neighborhood center from the existing building.
  3. Implementing much needed landscape improvements
  4. Enhancing security

To ensure that all work respects the historic significance of the Park, a Cultural Landscape has been prepared and presented to the City's Architectural and Landmarks Commission. Follow the links on the left to learn more about these projects, or you can read the entire plan here.
